Kaselel {hello} to our wonderful family and dear friends!
How humble I am and grateful to our Father in heaven for these past 6 months! I wonder if the next 6 go by as fast? Will the spiritual experiences keep coming hour by hour, day by day? Could I possibly love “our” Micronesian families any more than I already do? A lot to reflect upon!
Saturday Brother Albert was baptized! He made 3 trips in their little car from his house to the church and back that day because his family is so big! What a happy day for them all! They all know that in a year they can go to the temple, and be sealed together as an eternal family. Watching the transformation of someone as they learn of the gospel and realize they have a Savior who made it possible for them to return and live with our Father in heaven again is almost indescribable!
After Brother Albert was baptized Elder Dalmer went to pull the string attached to the plug to let the water out of the font. The plug was stuck so as he pulled the string and top part of the plug ripped right off! That is another OOG! (Only on Guam) E. Dalmer had to go under water and try and get it out and couldn’t so Bro. Albert went under and tried a long time to unplug the plug. He has great lung capacity as most Micronesian men because they free dive with their spears in the sea to spear fish. He was under for a long time and finally got it out! I put the camera on video as all this was going on so I can send it to Elder Albert and he will get quite a laugh out of seeing it all. So needless to say B. Albert will not forget his baptism day!!
Last Monday night we had a family Home evening with President and Sister Mecham and the other senior couples on island. We each take a turn during the month .It was our turn so we planned a walk down this secluded beach road that follows along the ocean. We walk this road every day for our morning walk and wanted to share the beauty of it with them. They all live in the city so they love to come down our way . We assigned each couple some scriptures from the book of Matthew in the Bible to read and share some spiritual insight, stopped at designated stops along the way, then came back here for dinner. It was fun !
